Entertain your guests before and after your ceremony by letting them watch a painting of you exchanging vows unfold. I love interacting with your guests! It’s perfect for those who might not love dancing at the reception, but will love watching your first dance as husband and wife unfold with each brushstroke. I’ve been painting for the last 8 years, specializing in florals, scenery, venue illustrations, and abstract art. With me love for creating unique stationery and signage for weddings over the last 8 years, it seemed natural to pack up my easel and art supplies and paint live, on scene.
It’s no secret: my favorite paint medium is watercolor. I also love painting with acrylics to create a more abstract and bolder statement, but the choice is up to you! All live illustration packages include a consultation with me about a month before your wedding to discuss the important elements you would like captured. I like to work from pre-event venue photos and other inspirational pictures (such as pictures of the couple, the Bride’s dress or Groom’s suit, floral pictures, or specific color palettes) before your event to sketch and plan to make sure the foundation of your painting is just perfect! Then, depending on which package you select, I will arrive on location to set up her easel and paints and begin the process. Some packages allow for more time on-site than others. You’ll definitely want to take that into consideration for your event timeline to make the most of the entertainment for your guests!
Another moment to possibly pre-plan for, especially for weddings, is the chance for the Bride & Groom to see their piece in person before they head off for their honeymoon! (You might even want to have the photographer or videographer stick around to capture that first look, as it’s always a special one!) After the event, Emilee will pack up her supplies, and take your painting back to her studio to add in all of those final little details to that are so important to the day, and finish and frame your piece! From there, Emilee will finish and frame your piece within one-two weeks and have it ready for pick-up! The majority of your painting will be created live at your wedding so that you and your guests can enjoy seeing the painting come to life. But this also includes a “Finished-Product Guarantee” that Emilee will take your painting home and add in the final details to perfect your painting after the wedding is over!
The final painting framed and matted with beautiful, personal details, carefully packaged, and ready for pick-up within two weeks after your wedding.
